My BIG holiday this year!

I am soooo excited  for my BIG holiday this year! Last year I went to Tasmania for 11 days. I wanted to go to New Zealand but instead we are going someone that’s as good as New Zealand!!! This year we are going to….. ( Drumroll please) QUEENSLAND!!!! OMG I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!! . I have never been to Queensland before. I have always wanted to go to Queensland ever since I was 9 years old ( in 2020). I especially wanted to go to Noosa! I remember asking one weekend if we could go to Noosa and my dad said maybe, only if you write me a 300 word poster about Noosa and then we can go. I didn’t want to write a 300 word poster but I knew if I wanted to go to Noosa I had to. So I went straight to work. It took me 2 days to finish that 300 word poster. Once I finished I was sooo excited to show my dad. When my dad came back from work that evening I showed him my poster and then he counted how many words I did. I went over 300 words, he was impressed! ( In case you are wondering I did 388 words) He said we will be going to Noosa that year. I was a excited wreck!   1 year later ( 2021) A year later I was wondering why we didn’t go to Noosa. I asked my dad and his words were tangled into a big pile. He was saying things like “it’s because of COVID-19 “ and “ we have been every busy this year”. I turned into a sad wreck. . I was so upset that I didn’t want to talk to my dad.  2022 In March My parents were being really suspicious  that month. They were looking at things on their computers for ages and they were talking about things quietly so we couldn’t hear. Then one night my parents asked me and my sister to come to the kitchen to talk about something important that we are doing in September that year. Then they told us the news. Our mouths dropped. We were in shock . We were going to Tasmania! I had never been to Tasmania so I was excited! My dad said we might be going to New Zealand next year.  ( 2023)  ( If you want to know about my Tasmania adventure read the blog about it, just scroll down and you will find them!)  In 2023 This year for our big holiday we are going to Queensland as I told you before. We are going for 3 weeks. Not only we are going Queensland, we will also be going to Melbourne and Sydney. ( Yes, we are driving!) My dad has a get-together with all his old school friends in Melbourne so we will be staying there for about 2-3 nights. ( I am not really sure yet about the nights and days) After Melbourne we will be going to Sydney and we will be staying there for 3 nights. Once we finished our 3 nights we are going QUEENSLAND!!! We are not staying in Brisbane unfortunately and we also will not be seeing the Great Barrier Reef! . In Queensland we will be staying in Noosa, Gold Coast and Fraser Island . In Noosa we will be staying there for 3 nights, Gold Coast 3 nights and the same with Fraser Island . Then 4 days to come back to Adelaide by car! ( Personally I don’t think I will survive the 4 night car trip to Adelaide from Queensland, I usually get carsick if it’s a long trip, like in Tasmania) I really want to go to Canberra but I don’t think we are going. But with some begging we might be able to stop at Canberra when we are driving back to Adelaide. (I love politics and I really want to see the Parliament House in Canberra)  One thing I want to do is go on one of the theme parks in the Gold Coast. I don’t really like heights so I will probably be going to the Wet ‘n’ Wild. I am so excited  and it is going to be so fun !!!  Comment in the comment box if you have any ideas to do in Queensland, Melbourne or Sydney! Also tell me some of your fun, funny, epic stories!  Want to learn more about Queensland? Parliament House!

Today, we went to the city to learn about politics. Don’t get me wrong, but I love POLITICS!!! I love how everyone gets a say in things, and it is so fair! Once I got to school, every single person in Year 6 couldn't stop talking. We also went on a tour inside Parliament House!!!! The atmosphere was full of excitement. We left school at around 9:15 and arrived in the city at 10:00. Once we got off the bus, the other Year 6 class went to go on a tour inside Parliament House while we had an activity book to finish. We also got to see the Centre Of Democracy. While we walked to the Centre Of Democracy, we stopped along the way to answer the questions on our booklet. Once we answered all the questions on our booklet, we walked all the way to the Centre Of Democracy. It was so cool! It had all the important people from the past, including all the previous Prime Ministers. In our booklet, we had some questions about the Centre Of Democracy. All the answers to the questions on the booklet were in the Centre Of Democracy. My best friend and I smashed all the questions in like 20 minutes. We explored for a bit until the teacher said it was time to go eat recess and then we would swap with the other Year 6 class. We ate our recess, and then our teacher said we could go explore for about 10 minutes.   We walked all the way to the Parliament House, and we had to wait until someone said it was okay to come inside. A couple of minutes later, someone came and told us we could come in. We all were really excited! Once we went in, we were all stopped at once because they had to check our bags and pockets if we had anything that wasn't allowed inside the Parliament House. We put our bags in this machine that would check if we had anything that we couldn't bring inside the Parliament House (it is technically the machines that check your handbags when you go to the airport!). Once we collected our bag, another man would scan us with a taser. For a second, I thought it was a gun! Once everyone had been checked, we got to meet our host of the tour. Our host was Stephen Patterson (Member of Morphett). We all knew Stephen Patterson because he has come to our school multiple times! Stephen Patterson showed us a place to leave our bags. Once we did that, Steven Patterson talked to us about the rules. Finally, we got a move on! Stephen Patterson had a presentation to show us. So he walked us to the room. On the way, he showed us the Parliament Jail. This is where you go when someone in Parliament has broken in, stolen something or abused one of the politicians. On the way to the room, we bumped into Terry Stephens (President of South Australian Legislative Council). He talked about his job, and we shook hands with him and left him to do his own work. Once we got to the room, Stephen Patterson talked about his job and what politics is like in Australia.   Once he had finished talking, he showed us a timeline about Parliament in South Australia. It was very fascinating about the past. Then he showed us the House Of Assembly seats. We actually got to sit in them, and he talked about what happens in here, and we all got to do our own voting. The topic was “should homework be banned in SA?” Obviously, everyone went to the yes side while all the teachers and parents went to the no side. Unfortunately, it was the end of our tour so we went and got our bags and lined up near the exit door. Stephen Patterson said he had something to give us. One by one he gave us a bag with a book about Parliament. Inside it had pencils and a ruler. It was so cool! We thanked Stephen Patterson and walked to Elderly Park. We sat and ate our lunch. After that we played games and did some juggling. It was so hot so I finished all my water so quickly, unfortunately there wasn’t any drinking taps so I couldn’t refill my drink bottle. I was so thirsty!!! It was a really hot day so we were all sweating like crazy. We all ran out of water and we were to hot to even play! But then we saw all the kids run up to my ESO we thought they were doing a running race but they weren’t! My ESO a was giving out Ice Blocks! My friends and I ran as fast as we could and grabbed a Ice block from her. It was so cold and nice! I was very grateful!!! After we ate our Ice Blocks we had another problem. Our hands were all sticky because while we were eating our Ice block it was dripping down our hands. Since we had no water to clean them off, I couldn’t do anything except wait until we got to school. A couple minutes later our teacher said it was time to go back to school. We hopped on the bus and chatted away about our day! Once we got to school the end of school bell had already gone so I had to get my sister and meet my mum outside the school gates. I will never forget today! I loved going to the Parliament House!!!

Operation Ouch in Adelaide!

Sunday 15 January 2023 Today Operation Ouch was doing a show in Adelaide! I could not wait so I woke up in the morning and got ready as fast as I can. The show started at 10:30 and ended at 12:00. We quickly went to the Thebarton theatre and then we sat in our seats. We were at the very back unfortunately. We couldn’t see a lot but luckily there was a huge Screen so we could see what Dr Chris and Dr Xand were doing. I will tell you guys what happened…  Dr Xand had pressed a big red button which would shoot out bacteria. Then he pointed it straight at Chris and he got stuck inside bacteria. Hehe, it was so funny! Finally once Xand had gotten Chris out of the Bacteria and they started the show. They put some Operation Ouch music on to set the mood. They introduced themselves to Adelaide but I didn’t need to know because I already knew them. Dr Chris told all the adults to switch off their phones. Then while he was talking someone’s phone rang. ( It was Dr Xand’s phone.) Then Xand’s phone rang again. This time Xand tried to answer it before Chris saw, but Dr Chris saw what Xand was doing. Chris yelled at Xand telling him to switch off his phone. Then there was multiple rings. Xand had lots of phones in his pockets. He even had a emergency one! Then Xand had gotten a message. The University of Adelaide wanted Dr Xand and Dr Chris to teach them about poo! add Chris showed us his great uncle’s poo collection. He had whale poo, hyena poo, he even had toxic poo! But one poo he didn’t have was the Golden Poo. He once found the golden poo but then he hid it in the Thebarton Theatre. I was thinking why would anyone hide the Golden Poo if it was so rare?! Chris and Xand found a clue in the Poo collection. They read it out loud. The clue said a pink poo. I was thinking what animal does a pink poo? Then it came to me… A Whale! There poo is pink because of all the shrimp they eat! Xand and Chris picked out the whale poo from the poo collection then Xand did the most grossest thing in the whole wide world. He put his hand in the whale poo and searched for the next clue. He actually did find the clue in the whale poo. The next clue said  U8 L8 M8. We were all thinking about it. We couldn’t find an answers so we decided to call Dr.Ronx. Ronx said that it was inside Dr Chris.  So Xand suggested that we cut Chris in half. Chris was like What?! No way! But Xand started to argue with Chris eventually Chris said ok. Chris hopped onto the bed then Xand put this machine over Chris. Then he got some rustic metal and cut Chris in half. Then he took of the box and Chris had no tummy. Chris was shocked! He started to yell at Xand saying give me back my tummy. Xand eventually did give back Chris tummy. Phew! ( This is actually a magic trick I can not believe how he did it, please do try to cut anyone’s body parts off, it was only a magic trick! )Next they wanted to show us our mouth, ears and nose. So they stuck up a endoscope up Xands Nose! It was the most grossest thing I ever saw! Then they did it with Xands Mouth and Ears! It was so gross!!!!! After that they went back on track trying to find out the missing Golden Poo. Then they found something on the back of the paper. It was a picture of all the seats in the theatre. Then it had marked out the spot U8 L8 M8. The people who where sitting there had found another clue under there seats. The next clue said.. somewhere you would go to do a number two! That meant the toilet! Chris had put some diving gear on and then he jumped into a toliet to look for the Golden Poo! Finally after sticking his head in the toilet he found the Golden Poo! We added to our poo collection and now it was complete! It was nearly then end of the show so for a fantastic finish they sang a song, they were actually much better than I expected! After the song they said goodbye and exited the stage. We all clapped for them. It was the best show I had ever seen! My mum bought me and my sister some Operation Ouch Magazines! There were lots of other things like water bottles, t shirts, hats, and lunchboxes but I didn’t want to get them. I wanted the Magazine.  Me and my sister told my dad every single detail. I couldn’t believe that I actually saw Dr Chris and Dr Xand for real! It was the best day of my life!

School Camp

Day 1 Monday 28th November 2022 Today is the day I am going to leave my home for 2 nights. Today is also my Birthday! I know!!! My school camp was on my birthday! I turned  11. I was happy and sad, I was happy because this was my wish come true ( to have a camping trip with all my friends!) I was upset because I wasn’t home to celebrate my birthday.   I got a Xbox for my birthday and a Frank Green. We cut a cake in the morning. Then it was time to leave. My mum dropped me off so I said goodbye sadly to my dad and we drove to school. As soon as I passed the school gate everyone was singing Happy Birthday to me. It was a huge surprise! Placed my bags near the gate and I was bombarded with questions!  AN HOUR LATER The teacher said that we have to eat our fruit then we will hop onto the bus in a couple minutes. The teacher had a little surprise for me. Everyone would sing happy birthday to me again at dinner. After fruit we got our bags and hopped onto the bus. Our camp was held at Adare Camp and Caravan Park at Victor Harbor https://uvsa.org.au/locations/adare-campsite . I gave my mum a big hug. I was definitely going to miss her. I said goodbye to my sister too. I hopped onto the bus and waved to her and then we were off. I was not home for 2 nights. While I was on the bus. I kept thinking what If someone came broke in my cabin? And will I be with my Best friends? I was nervous wreck.   AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATER Finally after the loud bus trip we were there, at Adare!! We hopped off the bus and we got out our luggage. We all placed our luggage under the white marquee. Then we sat in the Bethany hall for a a couple of minutes. A lady called Allie came and told us about the rules and the history about Adare. It was really fascinating. Allie introduced us to some other people. They were our teachers for our activities. After that our teacher told us our rooms. I was nervous because I wanted to be with my best friends. Finally the  teacher told us our room and I was with all my friends!! There was 5 people in my room. We were in Jayco 2, it was very different to the other cabins. It had a kitchen and everything! I had put all my luggage on the small single bed so that no one take it. There was a queen bed but I didn’t want it because it was too open to everyone.  My friend took the double bed. I made my bed then I went outside. We had a free play time until 1:30. We looked inside other peoples rooms. They didn’t have a kitchen like ours. At 1:30 we went to have lunch. YUMMY! At 2:00 we had to meet up at the Bethany hall to be put into our tribes and play some beach games. AFTER LUNCH We meet up at the Bethany hall. We were put into our tribes. We were in tribe 4 ( the grubs, the boys came up with that name) We had 5 minutes to get changed into our bather because we were going to play some beach games. Our first beach game was to dig under the pool noodle that has been hammered to the sand. Rules: you have to dig under the pool noodle without touching it. Once you think you have dug deep and far you send someone to go under the pool noodle. If they touch the pool noodle that team has to count to ten then start again. First one to get their whole team to the other side wins.  We dug and dug until our arms fell off. We were desperate to win. Our hole was deep and far, so our team thought it is now a good time to send someone under the pool noodle. Everyone said that I should go under first because I was really skinny and small. I went under the pool noodle and I made it to the other side! Except I had sand everywhere! I did not like that. But I didn’t care about that, I cared about winning this activity. We eventually got everyone to the other side.  A COUPLE MINUTES LATER Our teacher announced the winners .DRUM ROLL PLEASE!  We came  3RD!!!!  Yay! We cheered happily.  Our next activity was the bucket with holes in them. Rules: you have to fill your big bucket with the little bucket that has holes in them. It is really hard!  In this activity we came last. I didn’t care though. That was our last beach game. We walked back to the camp site. Our next activity was water obstacle. That was so stressful. The boys were slowing us down!!!!!! I was mad. In this activity we came 3rd.  My roommates and I had a shower plan. I would go first then everyone else. I had a nice warm shower. I had sand everywhere I even had some in my hair. I got changed and went to dinner. I did not like dinner. They served us cold sausages. At least dessert was good. For dessert we had chocolate mousse. After dessert everyone sang happy birthday to me. I had some lollie bags for everyone. I gave them to everyone. Everyone said happy birthday to me when I gave them out. Then we had to stay in our rooms. Then Lights out at 10:00. We played a mega UNO game. We never actually finished the UNO game because we got a bit distracted with stuff. We had a 9:30 midnight feast. We had lollies, banana, apple and biscuits. We all shared the food. Then the teacher came and knocked on our door saying it was now time to go to bed. It was the……..  BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!!!   Day 2 Tuesday 29th November 2022 I had woken up with a loud noise. It was just some loud cockatoos. I checked the time and it was 5:23am. Two other of my friends had woken too. They was just chatting. Eventually the rest of my dorm members started to wake up. By then it was 6:30am, we had 1 and a half hours until breakfast. We brushed our teeth and got changed. We were all yelling at each other because everyone wanted to go to the bathroom. It was hilarious.   1.5 hours later At 8 o’clock it was breakfast time. The hall was really loud. It sounded like there was 100 monkeys inside. I think there were a couple of monkeys inside. The boys were being silly and making monkeys noises. I couldn’t stand it. For breakfast there was cereal or toast. I had cereal. But the cook only put a little bit of milk. I was pretty much having just cereal without milk. I was hoping lunch was going to better.  We all meet up at the Bethany hall to chat about what tribes were going to do what. Our tribe was going to do kayaking first. I got changed into some clothes that were going to get wet. I wore some water proof shorts that I usually wear when I go kayaking with my family. We walked down to the Hindmarsh River. We had to pick a kayak buddy. My kayak buddy was my best friend. We picked a kayak and hopped into it. While we were on the water we learnt how to raft and how to go backwards, forwards, left and right. We had to listen to the teacher and some rules about the kayak. All I wanted to do was start kayaking. Finally, the teacher said the word “ let’s go”.  My friend and I was paddling so hard. We accidentally got stuck in a bush. But that didn’t stop us. We bumped into rocks and other people. We rafted and then the teacher said we can play a game. We played world nation. Rules: you have to pick a country ( eg: Italy) then you have to kayak and tap the back for someone’s kayak. If you tap them they become your country. The country that has the most people win. Ready set go! We were off. Tapping the back of other people’s kayak. Until something terrible happened. Australia tagged us!!!!!! We were going so good until Australia tagged us! Once we had finished playing world nation we had to race the teacher back to the start. Me and my best friend were just behind the teacher. We were on her tail until we got stuck in another bush. I think bushes are my worst enemy. Unfortunately we didn’t beat the unstoppable teacher. But we were the first students to hop out the water. We dried our selves with our towel and waited for everyone to come out of the water. We walked back to camp and went over to our next activity station. Our next activity was the flying kiwi. ( if you don’t know what a flying kiwi is search it up on google because it is a bit hard to explain) It was so high!! It was about 75m high .I was to scared to go on it. The teacher number us, that was the order we were going in. I was number 7. What happens is that they threw a rope over a big tree and you get tied onto that rope and then everyone else pull you so you go up into the sky. It looks like you are flying.  A couple minutes later… My number was called. I walked up slowly. I had all these thoughts in my head, what happens if the rope breaks? What happens if I faint in the air??? I was super nervous and a little bit excited. They tied the rope around me then in 3 seconds I was up in the air. I could see the beach and the roads and mountains. I loved it. Now I know what it feels like  to fly. Then in another 3 seconds it was over. I really wanted to do it again but we could only have one turn each. After the flying kiwi we had lunch.  After lunch we got changed into our bathers and put a wetsuit on. We were going to the beach to do raft making and body boarding. We walked all the way to the beach with a board in our hands.  Once we got to the beach we placed our boards and towels on the sand. Then the teacher explained the rules. We had to make a raft using wood, string and inflatable tyres. Once we had made our raft we had to launch it in the water with someone on it. Once we have done that twice we have to dismantle it and put everything in a neat pile. We had made our raft and then my team mates said I should go on it first because I was the lightest. We thought we were going good until a humongous wave came and washed me and the raft back upon the shore. The raft had broken apart. I kept going….. I really shouldn’t have gone on the raft first because I had sand everywhere! I think I even had some in my mouth. Gross! After I had gone in the water twice we dismantled the raft and put it in a neat pile. We had come 3rd out of 6 teams. It was that bad. Once we had finished raft making we got out our boards and then we waited for the instructor. He told us what to do and not do. Finally after a couple of minutes we were allowed to go in the water. I caught superb waves! Until there was a gigantic wave and it pushed me about 30 meters away from the group. I swam back to the shore and walked to where my group was.  After an hour of fun we went back to the other tribes to tell them everything that happened. I quickly hopped into the shower before anyone else could. On the floor of the shower was sand! All that sand was from me!!! After a super quick shower I got changed and waited for my friends so we could all go to dinner. For once dinner was yummy.  For dinner we had chicken schnitzel with a delicious gravy. The only think I didn’t like was the vegetables. They were a bit hard. After dinner we had dessert. For dessert we had vanilla ice cream with a chocolate, strawberry or caramel syrup on-top. I had it with chocolate syrup. After dinner we got changed into our Pjs and played UNO. Then we played Would You Rather? At 10:00 the teacher came to our door saying in was now bedtime. We brushed our teeth and went to bed. We left the bathroom light on because some people in my dorm were a bit scared of the dark. We talked then I slowly started to fall asleep. I woke up again in the middle of the night because someone in my dorm was singing to herself to sleep. I was shocked. Then I slowly fell asleep. Day 3  Wednesday 30th November 2022 Today we were leaving Adare. I was a bit upset but I was also excited to go home! All my friends had woken up before me and all ready started to pack. I got out the clothes I was going to wear and quickly went into the bathroom before there would be a queue. After all my dorm room mates had gotten changed we all started to pack and then we cleaned the dorm and made sure we didn’t leave anything behind.  An Hour Later We put our bags near the white marquee and went to play on the grass. We played Tag and Hide & Seek. Then our teacher called us for breakfast. For breakfast we had toast or cereal again! I went for toast. After breakfast we had our last tribe games. Our first tribe game for the day was the team relay. It is basically some obstacles and we have to go past, through , under or over them. We have to get our whole team to the other side. I already knew that we weren’t going to win because the boys were trying to make us lose. I think I can predict the future. The boys were just chatting away while all the girls had to do all the work and give out all the commands. It was torture. We were in the lead until the last obstacle. We had to set up all the dominos in a line and knock them over. The boys kept knocking down the dominos over and over again. So then the other team quickly put there dominos in a straight and then knocked them over in one small flick. The girls were really annoyed at the boys. Our next activity was the amazing race. We had a piece of card with questions and  we had to find the answers before the timer ran out. My team were on fire. We were going really good. We had gotten 4 questions correct. Finally the timer ran out. We had gotten 7 questions right. We all congratulated everyone then we moved onto our next activity. Our next activity was Brain Twister. You need to use your brain and be a team to complete these games  20 Minutes Later….  Once we finished all the games we went to the Bethany hall and then we all said goodbye to all the instructors. I was really excited to go home!!!  Then we had lunch, for lunch we had rolls. In my roll there was butter, cheese and ham. We had a quick 30 minutes to eat our roll. If we finished all our lunch we would get ice cream. I really wanted the ice cream so I was shoving my lunch in my mouth. ( I did get the Ice cream)  after eating the delicious chocolate ice cream. We got our luggage and hopped onto the bus. Then we said goodbye to Adare. I was really sad leaving Adare but I was also excited to get home! My bus buddy and I fell asleep on the bus.   1.5 hours later…. We finally reached school then we ran straight up to the classroom and we turned on the Tv and we started to watch a movie. We watched SpongeBob until the bell went for the end of the day.      The End!!!!

Where does money come from? According to my little sister…

(Do not try this at home please, this is not true!)  Where does money come from? Money comes from trees. If you want to have a money tree you need to bury a coin in ground and water it everyday. When the money tree grows you can pick the money out of the tree. Make sure not to rip the money! If you water it a lot, it will turn into apples. If your pet eats money you will have to feed it flowers. Also a machine in the wall give money for free! (ATM) Where does money go?  Once you give your money to someone you will get more money because there is a money fairy. If you loose or give your money to someone the money fairy will come in the middle of the night and put $100 in your piggy bank. The money fairy lives in the money castle. She has a lot of money stored in her chest. Also the machine in the wall ( ATM) can suck up money from your hand. If you press a button your money in your hand will disappear!  Money in the future.. In the future you can eat money and then your face will turn into a tomato. Money will be rainbow coloured, if you see a diamond money you have to give it to the police because it is really rare. It is so rare that if you touch it your hands will turn into concrete. In the future you can have your face on the money. You have to sign a form that says “ Want your face on a coin”? Once you sign it a camera person comes and takes a photo of your face. Then 5 months later you face will be on a coin.  How my little sister counts money… One time in Tasmania we went to the Salamanca Market. There was a key ring for $5. My sister wanted to buy it so she asked mum, mum said yes. She got the key ring she wanted off the shelf and went to the cash register to pay for it. When the lady said it was $5 my sister gave her 5 20 cent coins thinking it was $5. It was so funny! My mum helped pay for it.  Reminder!!! None of this is true… This is how my sister thinks where money comes and goes from. Please don’t feed your pet money or plant a coin in the ground or hope if you lose money the money fairy will come and give you $100.

The 156 Storey Treehouse......

Today I bought the 156- Story Treehouse. I finished reading the book and I think it is great!  I will tell you a bit about it… Andy and Terry are celebrating Christmas in the treehouse. Terry puts Christmas lights on every single leaf! Until Mr Big Nose calls to remind them that there next book is due on Christmas Day! Andy and Terry try to convince Mr Big Nose to change their due date. But Mr Big Nose doesn’t accept it. Mr Big Nose doesn’t believe in Christmas. And as you know Terry gets distracted very easily with things like letters to Santa, a mysterious present and a lot more. Then Santa Claus crashes into the treehouse and bounces into the clone machine. And out comes out 100 Santa Clauses! So Jill, Andy and Terry save Christmas by delivering presents to every child on Santa’s list. (I don’t want to say anymore so I don’t spoil the ending.)  The Treehouse books are my favourite… I have read all of them! Pooping bird 💩

Today at school 🏫 something hilarious and disgusting happened. Here is the story.... The bell 🔔 had just gone. That bell means ' time to have your lunch'. We were all chatting away and having our lunch. While I was eating my cucumbers I was listening to the birds, thinking how nice they sound. Once I finished my cucumbers there was only 2 minutes left. So I decided to eat my popcorn that I didn't finish. While I was eating my popcorn and chatting away a bird came out of nowhere and pooped on my shoulder!!! The bad thing was that I never saw the bird that pooped on my shoulder. I ran to the bathroom and tried to wash it off.  Lucky my best friend was there to help me. I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed until the bird poo came off. There was still a bit left so my best friend helped me get it off. There is a little stain on my school top. But once I put it in the laundry it should come off. Then I remembered about 3 years ago a bird came and pooped on my lunch box. I was too scared to eat my lunch that day. Maybe that bird that pooped on my lunchbox 3 years ago was the same bird that pooped on my shoulder. Now I don't eat food under trees. And now I always watch out for my enemy. (That pooping bird)

My Chickens Eggcellent Birthday

Today was my chickens 2nd birthday. We made a cake for them. I know what your thinking . A cake.. for a chicken?! We made them a chicken proof cake. It was a lettuce cake. We had taken out the lettuce in the inside and we filled it with their favourite food. We filled it with Rice, Spaghetti, Pasta, Watermelon and Banana. I must admit it was a pretty good cake. They ate all of it. After that they had a long sleep in the shade. ( They are a bit lazy and spoilt ). My dad wanted to take a photo of me and the chickens. I got 2 of them but we had one missing. She was in the corner. My dad tried to get her but she just ran. My dad started chasing her around the garden. He jumped over sticks and rocks. He ducked under trees. He went through bushes and then he finally corned the cheeky chicken and grabbed her. My dad got a photo before they got impatient.  For their last birthday we made them a watermelon cake. It was a big waste. The funny part was that they were scared of their own cake. 😄😂They only took like five bites and left. While I was watching the girls eat their lettuce cake I thought about the time I first got my chickens. I had gotten 7 baby chickens. They were 2 days old. I still remember the day and the date. ( 18 of October 2020, Sunday). I had named them Fluffy, Chirpy, Moonlight, Pompom, Shadow, Holly and Stripy.

On our way to Tasmania.. first stop Melbourne - Day 1

Friday was torture. We were driving from Adelaide to Melbourne. On the way we saw lots of canola farms.  Finally we were here in Melbourne!  The buildings looked really pretty with the fog .We had booked an accommodation at a Motel. Our room number was 27. After we unpacked and had a shower, We went out to dinner with my Mum’s niece ( aka: my cousin). Her name is Rish . We went to a Sri Lankan restaurant called Upali’s Melbourne.  Their food is delicious! For dinner I had Hoppers, Cheese Rotti and for a drink I had a lovely Watermelon juice. My parents drove Rish back to her house. By the time we went to bed it was 10:00. I was tired.

On our way to Tasmania.. Spirit of Tasmania - Day 2

Today we are leaving Melbourne. Before we left we enjoyed our time in Melbourne by going out to a Sri Lankan Cafe for breakfast. It was called New Lanka, I had a fish roll which was delicious.  When we had finished breakfast we went to the shopping center to by the last minute things we needed for Tasmania. My mum said that I can buy Tic Tac’s . We had to buy lunch from Bakers Delight. I had a Hawaiian Pizza and a Vegeminte scroll. Yummy!  When we got to our Motel, we all had lunch and started to pack up. We had to leave the motel before 3:00 (because of the AFL Grandfinal match) and get there before 5:00. It took us 34mins to get to Port Melbourne. We reached Port Melbourne around 3:30 . The Spirt Of Tasmania leaves at 9:00. We had about 5 hrs and 30 mins. So we walked down the jetty and went to a lovely Cafe for a hot chocolate. Then my dad's friend arrived. We talked a bit. Until the ship came. I hopped on nervous. What is going to happen next??? What happens if the ship breaks down ? What happens if I get lost inside the ship?! All these questions were bubbling inside my head. But I knew that everything is going to be ok. The line was soooo long and I was sooo bored. It took us about an hour to get inside the ship I was  excited and nervous.

On our way to Tasmania.. We are there - Day 3

(A bit from Day 2) ...We finally got into the ship. Our cabin had 4 bunk beds and 1 bathroom. Our cabin number was 8038 on the deck 8. We unpacked and relaxed for about 15mins, then on the speaker it said “  We are now leaving Melbourne “. Yay! My Dad, My Mum , My Sister and I went outside on to the ship deck, Melbourne looked tinier and tinier as the ferry sailed. I was nervous wreck because i didn’t want to drop my phone in the water. It started getting chilly so we went inside and met my dad’s friend  and his family  on the 10th floor. On the deck 10th, there is a restaurant, playground, Game Center and a relaxing area. We came to the 10th floor because it was my friend’s birthday and we wanted to cut a cake for her birthday. It was scrumptious! We gave her a present. It was a super cool jumpsuit. After we cut the cake it was 9:20, we had 40 minutes before the restaurant closed . The restaurant closes at 10:00. I had French fries with Tasmanian tomato sauce. After we had dinner My Mum, My Sister and I went to our cabins for bed, my dad didn’t come because he was having a beer with his friends at the bar. He said “ I will come to bed later around 11:30”.  I got changed into my PJ’s and went to bed. I managed to sleep that night.

Tasmania.. Gordon River Cruise - Day 4

Today I had to wake up early at 5:00am because we were going to the Gordon River Cruise. (I am not an early person.)  We had to wake up early because it takes 2hrs from where we are. (The Gordon River Cruise was in Strahan.) After a angrily woke up I had breakfast and had a shower. Then we were off. I was bored for 2hrs. I was so bored that I started counting trees, until I lost my count because my sister wanted to play I Spy with me.The Gordon River Cruise starts at 8:30am and we were late.  We were late because my dad couldn’t find a parking spot. We were even more late until my sister said she had to go to the toilet. I was like….we are going to miss the cruise. We ran to the pier. We were like the last people to get on. The very last people were my dad’s friends. They were coming too. Once we got on the cruise a kind man showed us our seats. The Gordon River Cruise teaches us about the past and nature. Our guide Sam taught us a bit about the past and what we were going to see along the way. Sam told us that we were going to Sarah Island. (A convict Island) but before we going to Sarah island we were going to stop at some places along the way.  On our first stop we went on a bush walk. The Captain Doug, will sound a horn .Which means turn around a come back to the ship. We walked through a rainforest, I was a bit scared about leaches, but I never got one! Yay! Sam told us that after we come back from Sarah Island we will have lunch. I know what your thinking. They provide lunch!!!! Once we got to Sarah Island we were split into groups. Our tour guide was a lady called Louise who explained everything really well. “Sarah Island was a convict island “ said Louise. In the olden times. The convicts would get a slap on the back with a cat tail, which can split open their back! I would want that to happen to me. We saw some heritage buildings, like jail, the bakery and the government house. They were broken a bit but it was really fascinating to see olden time buildings. After we finished we came back to the cruise. It was Lunchtime. I was the first person to go up. There was a variety of food . I didn’t know what to pick. So I picked all of them. :) My food was delicious except the potato. On the way back we saw some seals and dolphins playing together. I also got to see the Captains area and take a photo with him.  The Gordon River Cruise had finished. My dad promised me that he will buy me a present from the gift shop. My sister got some miniature Australian mammals and a bookmark. I got golden statue of a Tasmanian Devil and a bookmark with bush wallabies on it. The tour guide had recommended that we should go to the Henty dunes. He said “ bring a boogie board or a cardboard box to slide down the dune.” So we went to Henty Dunes. Oh my gosh .. it was big. I manage to walk up without fall but I had to go on all fours. Once we got to the top there was more dunes to climb. I decided that I won’t climb up them. Instead I made a Sandman. ( A sandman is like a snow man but made out of sand) it didn’t really go well…. Once we had a enough. We had to climb down sand dune. I thought it was going to be easy. Until I was like a bowling ball rolling down the hill. I had sand everywhere. On my legs, my arms, my hand, I think some went inside my brain :)  I was a sand monster. It took me ages to get rid of the sand. All I could think about was I needed a shower ASAP. Once we got home I raced to the bathroom and had a long warm shower. I used one tiny bottle of shampoo to get rid of the sand in my hair.
