(A bit from Day 2) ...We finally got into the ship. Our cabin had 4 bunk beds and 1 bathroom. Our cabin number was 8038 on the deck 8. We unpacked and relaxed for about 15mins, then on the speaker it said “ We are now leaving Melbourne “. Yay! My Dad, My Mum , My Sister and I went outside on to the ship deck, Melbourne looked tinier and tinier as the ferry sailed. I was nervous wreck because i didn’t want to drop my phone in the water. It started getting chilly so we went inside and met my dad’s friend and his family on the 10th floor. On the deck 10th, there is a restaurant, playground, Game Center and a relaxing area. We came to the 10th floor because it was my friend’s birthday and we wanted to cut a cake for her birthday. It was scrumptious! We gave her a present. It was a super cool jumpsuit. After we cut the cake it was 9:20, we had 40 minutes before the restaurant closed . The restaurant closes at 10:00. I had French fries with Tasmanian tomato sauce. After we had dinner My Mum, My Sister and I went to our cabins for bed, my dad didn’t come because he was having a beer with his friends at the bar. He said “ I will come to bed later around 11:30”. I got changed into my PJ’s and went to bed. I managed to sleep that night.
Last night the Captain said that we will arrive a Tasmania at 6:30am. So my family had to wake up at 5:00. ( I don’t like waking up early in the morning). We didn’t have breakfast because we were going to my dad’s school friend house for breakfast. He lives in Devonport. ( They moved from Adelaide to Tasmania and now works at the Devonport Hospital as doctors). We got changed and by then it was 6:20. The ship arrived earlier than the Captain expected. But that didn’t mean we had to get out early. My dad went to the toilet again as usual by then it was 6:30. The Captain called out the deck levels so that there would be no rush. He called out deck 2. Our deck… ( where we parked our car) my dad was still in the toilet. My mum's head was on fire. She was red as a tomato. I was panicking because I thought that they will leave us behind. My dad came out the toilet and we sprinted down the stairs. And we drove off to Devonport for breakfast. It was 7:30. After we had breakfast we went to Mersey Bluff lighthouse. We went for a walk and we saw Bush Wallabies!!!! After the walk we went to the Table Cape Tulip Farm in Wynyard. We saw a variety of Tulips with different colours. They were beautiful. My favourite one was the Double Price Tulip. After the Tulip farm we started driving to our accommodation in Cradle Mountain. On our way we stopped at Guide Falls ( waterfall) . While we were walking we saw little waterfalls and we thought that was the waterfall until at the end of the trail there was it… a HUMONGOUS waterfall. I was shocked, amazed and curious. It was magical. I ran to get my mum, she was in the car. She had the same feelings as me when she saw it.
In the Afternoon…
Around 4:00 we reached Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. I was glad, we checked-in. Our Chalet number is 29. The place was gorgeous. We can see the forest from the living area and from my room too. I had a quick shower so I would be fresh. Then we went to Hellyer’s Restaurant. The parents sat on there own table and the kids had there own too. The parents had the Cradle Mountain Alpine Experience. It was very fancy. We had our own menus and we could order whatever we liked! And not only that we had our own waitress. She was a lovely lady. She gave us an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert because we were her best customers so far. She said that we had excellent manners. After that we went back to our Chalet and had a goodnight sleep.
