Tasmania.. Bruny Island and Hobart - Day 7

Published on 15 October 2022 at 22:33

Today was our first day in Hobart. But we weren’t going to explore Hobart today. Today we were going to explore Bruny Island. We had to go on ferry. (it holds cars too) It only takes like 20 minutes to get to Bruny island by the ferry. Once we got to Bruny Island my dad said let’s go visit the Neck. And JEEZ it was windy. But it is really pretty, worth going to guys! Then we went to Cape Bruny lighthouse.  After that we went to Captain Cook Adventure Bay. There is a beach down there. We played down there for a bit then went for a little walk down the jetty. The kids started exploring around the beach. We found rock pools and a lot of them....Then we started drawing and writing in the sand. We tried to build a wall out of sand to block the water. It was so funny because someone would get wet each time. We had lunch then it was time to go. We were driving until we saw a sign that said Bruny Island Honey. Yum!! Honey!!! At the front there was honey tasting. There was popsicle sticks for everyone to dip in the different types of honey. There was a jar with the used popsicles in it. I didn’t know and gave one to my mum. Yuck. I realised that they were the used ones until someone put theirs in the jar. Before my mum could dip it in I yelled STOP!!! She said, why? The one I gave you has already been used. Yuck! She said. I gave her one that hasn’t been used. I am not a honey person that much. My mum's favourite was leatherwood. We decided to buy our neighbours a present because they were looking after the chickens. We bought them a gift pack. In the pack there was small jars that had different types of honey. My mum bought a big jar of leatherwood for us. Boy, she must love  leatherwood honey. After we bought the honey we started driving to the ferry pick up point. We missed the 3:30 one so we had to wait for the 4:00 one. My mum asked me to look on the internet for some Indian restaurants near us on my phone, because hers was on the charger. We decided to go to The Saffron Indian Restaurant. At 6:00 we were inside the restaurant. The waitress had given our table to someone else. By 6:30 we had our food. I had ordered Cheese Naan with Butter Chicken. I also had a milk shake as a drink. The wait wasn’t that long. My mum gave me some of her rice. Jeez it was spicy! My dad's was even more spicy, I think my taste buds are broken. After dinner we walked down the pier.  Hobart looks pretty when it’s night time. We even saw a pirate ship on the way!!! We walked past some other restaurants and hotels. We walked back to our hotel. Day 7 done! 3 more days left of our holiday. I was a bit upset but I can’t wait to get home and see my chickens!
